Going green is bigger than just a movement to conserve the future. Most people think it’s just something that Al Gore brought up in a documentary, but it’s something that we are already seeing effects of. Global Warming is just one of the issues. If the world keeps going the way it is right now, we are going to see floods, heat waves, extinctions of animals, etc. But we are also witnessing some effects already. For instance, the air quality in major cities is causing many people to have trouble breathing. Or the pollution in water is causing a global water crisis. Going green is something we should all be doing so that at least by the end of our lifetimes, and our grandchildren’s lifetimes, we can have the same environmental benefits that we had as children.
But on another note, going green also saves you money. People do not realize how expensive the minor conveniences can get. For instance, the convenience of driving 5 minutes compared to walking 15 minutes. This causes air problems and also costs us money. An extra 10 minutes can save you a lot of money and keep the environment clean. Many people leave their clothes in the dryer overnight, and take it out in the morning. Why not just leave it on a drying rack overnight and pick it up in the morning? Some conveniences are just expensive and pointless. A couple of degrees down on the heating is not that big of an issue. Wear a sweater or sweat pants and sleep with a thicker blanket, you won’t even be able to tell the difference, but you will be able to see the savings on your bills!
Going green is beneficial not only to the future, but to your immediate wallets! Go green now!
